Special gift? Special gift means that it can be special in anyway. Oho I have one special gift. Actually, at first I didn't know my gift was special and made me feel grand. Later on I noticed that it was really special for me. Would you like to guess? Just kidding. :)
It was a small key chain. I know you guys would wonder about my special gift and probably think I am a little bit crazy. However, this was one of my mother's gifts before I came to Seattle. Absolutely, it was not as expensive as others. It was made by little crystals and included my first name "May". Moreover, it included a key and a key lock. As you know, I am a key chain fanatic, by the time I got that key chain from my mother, I had no words to express all of my happiness.
When I came to Seattle, I brought that key chain with me. I thought it made me not to feel like lonely girl. In addition, when I feel so tired or sick of my host family it helped me to get away all of these feelings. As everybody knows, host family can not be nice just like real family. Sometimes, my host family is nice to me and to other two students but sometimes we can not understand what's wrong with them.
Besides, if I had some problems with my studying, looking at that key chain and I felt satisfied. A key and A key lock from that give me energy to overwhelm everything easily because I feel like I don't need to worry about anything. Why? I have a key to open and to solve everything.....
My mother can not stay beside me right now because we are far away. Even though two of us are in each place, I can imagine like my mother is beside me as long as I keep the key chain. Therefore this gift is so brilliant, meaningful and special for me.......... :)

Hi Everyone~~~ My name is May Mar Hlaing. You guys can call me either May or May Mar. I'm from Myanmar which is the second largest country in Southeast Asia and is bordered by China, Laos and Thailand. I am 17 years old and the youngest in my family. My family has 4 members, my parents, my elder sister and I. I graduated high school in Myanmar and then I've decided to come and study in SCCC. I came to Seattle in September 2007 and also this is my first time to the USA. I live with Philipinos host family. This is my second quarter in SCCC. I like to study in Seattle because it helps me to improve my English very fast. Besides, I've opportunities to make lots of friends from other countries and we can share our country culture. But Seattle weather is totally different from my country. It is much colder than Myanmar. I would like to tell something about my ambition. In my future, I am planning to study Electronic Engineering. Because I envy my elder sister who is working as an electronic engineer. If I have a chance to work in the USA, I would like to work. Actually I'm very crazy to collect the little stuffs such as key chains, small toys......^_^I usually spend my leisure times by reading the books, listening to the music and watching the English movies which can also help my English. I like to read all kinds of books and my favourite singers are Shayne Ward and Britney Spears. For watching movies, especially I like comedy movies. They make me feel very relax. Do you have something favourite similar to me? Anyway, I'm so glad to meet and study together with you guys :) and you guys are very welcome to my country to enjoy our culture and amazing historical pagodas.
